>>But then I find the whole idea of "Christians" being different from non-Christians equally silly<<

I believe Christians should be different. They should be honest, truthful and sober minded, and genuine Christians ARE. You wrote,

>>since we're all children of God, regardless of nationality, race,  religion, or favorite soccer team.<<

God is Creator of all, yet only Father of those who have been born-anew by the Holy Spirit into His family.  John 1:12-13 reads, “Yet to all who received him [Jesus], to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. Children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.”

First John 3:10 reads, “This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God….” So God’s children are "different". You wrote,

>>I think evangelical and fundamental churches are messing up  minds, lives, and bank-accounts all in the name of God so we're in  at least some agreement.<<

For the most part, this is not true. God’s children who live by the Bible are usually decent folk. Most evangelical churches are about spreading the Gospel, loving their neighbor and doing good and NOT pinching money.  And good on them! I’m glad they are "different".  You wrote,

>>Just because you don't like WDW, that doesn't make them bad or evil.<<

Depends what your standards are based on. They are obviously “different” than mine. You wrote,

>>I get all kinds of mail from people who love WDW and who have been helped by the organization.<<

Silly me, and I thought you had “nothing to do with the Weigh Down Diet program” and “personally have no interest in Christian health”. Now you have a mail against the organization. I write on behalf of two others who believe WDW is all about making money from Christians. Using the church as a network for new clients and mixing Christianity into the process. It’s like Amway, but exploits Christians by making a gain out of them, contrary to true Christianity. You wrote,

>>So why are you so judgmental?<<

I see a difference between respecting the rights of others and remaining silent when wrong is been done. You wrote,

>>It kills me the way "Christians" judge each other and say nasty things about them.<<

So it’s alright for WDW to mess up Christians and make money out of them, but Christians are not supposed to object "and say nasty things about" it. You wrote,

>>I just don't see Jesus behaving that way.<<

Well, He did over turn the Money Changers who made God's house a place of profit and threw them out. Very "judgmental" don’t you think?

True Christianity is about God’s love for me, that out of His kindness and grace He rescued me from a life of selfishness and a lost eternity. True Christianity is about the wonder of who God is and what He’s done in His Son, and also about walking in newness of life, telling others and worshipping Him. It’s not about making money out of God’s children and thinking that money is God’s blessing.

regards.
